Another day at Jembaten Senang

Another day at Jembaten Senang

I once again joined the children at Jembaten Senang for a pleasurable morning of sing-a-long, storytelling and healing. Sweeney, a massage therapist whom I’d met at White Sand Beach, on my first visit to Bali November, 2014, accompanied me to work on the children too. We did a couple of treatments on Putu Libra, a boy with slow coordination and slow mental development, and then Komang.  Komang is the youngest girl they have, at just 5 years old, and she has Downs Syndrome. Sweeney did excellent work on Putu Libra. I started the session, he finished. He was so overjoyed at what he’d been able to achieve with the young boy, giving him greater movement in the arms and shoulders and improved coordination. We will meet again tomorrow morning before the children go swimming at Aquaria Waterside Apartments, to discuss future work. The language barrier can be such a challenge at times as I endeavour to get my message across of what I’m wanting the therapists to do with the children. I persevere in faith that the best therapist will show up.
